Shadwell Lane is a very long lane where you can find many different facilities within 10 minutes on foot, for example: Medical Centre and Doctors Surgery, Pharmacy, Opticians, Hairdressers, Supermarket, Bakery, Clothes shops, Newsagent and Cash machines. There is also the Dexter Pub, which serves drinks and meals where you can take part in the quiz games.

Within fifteen minutes on foot (or 2 minutes by bus) there is ‘Moortown Corner’. There you will find a large number of Banks (Lloyds, Barclays, Halifax, HSBC), Coffee shops, Hairdressers, Marks & Spencer supermarket, bakeries, Mobile phone store and many others.

Within fifteen minutes on foot (but in another direction) you can enjoy one of the most beautiful and impressive parks in Yorkshire: ‘Roundhay Park’. It has two enormous lakes with beautiful swans, geese and ducks. If you enjoy running/jogging there are a number of running tracks around the lakes and throughout the enormous park. This is extremely popular and attracts a lot of families throughout the year. There are three restaurants within the park, one of which overlooks the lake. Opposite the park there is Tropical World which is a mini tropical Zoo.
